When and where was the organization registered?

The public organization «Human rights center” was registered in 1997 under the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Tajikistan.

Purpose? (Mission?)

The mission of the public organization "Human rights center" is to assist Tajikistan in building a state based on the rule of law by improving legal literacy and legal protection of the population, guided by international human rights standards and national legislation.

The HRC actively cooperates with government bodies at all levels, including the law enforcement and judicial systems, and public and international organizations established to enhance the role of citizens in the struggle to observe and protect human rights.

Areas of activity.

• Promoting international standards of human rights in places of deprivation of liberty, humane treatment, and respect for human dignity for persons deprived of their liberty.
•  Freedom from torture, cruel and degrading treatment.
• Access to Justice and the Rule of Law.
