The application of national and international human rights standards in the protection of victims of torture and ill-treatment

On August 12 in Dushanbe, a training for lawyers was held, attended by 25 legal professionals . The event served as an important professional platform for exchanging experience and deepening knowledge on the application of national and international human rights standards in the protection of victims of torture and ill-treatment. Participants discussed current challenges in legal practice, strengthened their skills in handling cases related to the protection of victims of torture, and received tools for more effective legal representation of such victims. Special attention was given to the development of practical skills and the improvement of the quality of legal assistance. Such trainings contribute to the establishment of a unified approach to the protection of human rights and to strengthening the role of the legal profession in building the rule of law.The program included presentations, group work, discussion of real cases, and the development of joint solutions.The event was held within the framework of the project “Path to Justice: Strengthening Human Rights through the Prevention of Torture and Reform of the Penitentiary System”, funded by the European Union
